      2008 Internship Program

Are you looking for a fun and exciting way to earn college credit?  Consider interning with us at Planned Parenthood of South Florida & the Treasure Coast! 

 Three internship positions are currently available:


Public Affairs Intern will learn how to educate, advocate, and assist in building a strong Planned Parenthood presence in the community. Interns will also assist with advocacy activities pertaining to reproductive health and choice issues as well as acting as a liaison between the organization and students at local colleges and community organizations.


E-Organizer will assist in the development and implementation of online     strategies to recruit, educate and mobilize the community of South Florida           activists.  This will involve maintaining and expanding our Young Activist Team MySpace page and website, preparing a monthly e-newsletter, investigating   other social networking sights, and engaging the contacts we gain through these methods in our public policy campaigns.

Campus Choice/Vox Coordinator will educate and mobilize students on a campus around pro-choice issues.  Working closely with the Field Organizer to build grassroots support on campus and in the surrounding community, the intern will help build a network of supporters that will encourage their elected officials to support women’s health initiatives. Responsibilities also include maintaining established pro-choice campus/community groups, host Vox specific meetings and events  and to  distribute information on-campus about issues relating to reproductive health and sexuality education.

Internships will be awarded to students who clearly demonstrate an enthusiasm for and dedication to protecting reproductive choice through local advocacy,  activism, and campus and community involvement. Internship applicants must commit to the affiliate 15-20 hours per week for the duration of the semester in either our West Palm Beach or Miami headquarters.
